I know this isn't food or health related but I really wanted to shared my little project. Since I love the holiday season I decided to do a few DIY projects and this is one of many. It is really simple and involves only a few items which makes it really cost effective as well. I wanted to do more of a winter theme, so I included silvers and baby blues ect. of course you could do a more literal christmas theme with green and red pine cones or even red and gold sparkly pine cones which I may try myself. The choice is yours, be creative, innovative and make it your own :)
What You'll Need:
pine cones
a variety of spray paint ( I used silver, white, baby blue, pink and purple)
glitter
a bowl
something to cover your work space with ( I used a very large piece of paper)
latex gloves
a glass vase
This project is really simple, take your pine cones and spray them each individual colour. To add the glitter I just put the pine cones in a bowl and sprinkled the glitter on once they were in there to contain the mess. I didn't put glitter on all of them just a few.
Tips:
Wear latex gloves or else your hands get extremely messy. I had 5 separate pairs of gloves ( a different pair for each colour).
Make sure your work space is well covered or else you will make a huge mess.
Do two coats on each pine cone to ensure full coverage.
Give the pine cones a solid amount of dry time ( approx. 20 mins) between each coat and at least a couple hours total before putting them in the vase.
those are so pretty!!!!!!
