Healthy Basil Pesto

Last night while watching the season finale of Big Brother 15 I, for some reason decided that I was gonna make some pesto. Pesto is a great little spread/ sauce to have around, I love it on my sandwiches, pizza and pasta, it is such a versatile food item. Not only is it versatile but it is so easy to make, so I came up with a quick healthy recipe for a basil pesto, try it out and let me know what you think!

What You'll Need: 

2 - 2 1/2 cups fresh basil leaves

1/2 cup olive oil 

2 cloves of garlic

1 cup pine nuts 

salt and pepper to taste

1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor, blend until smooth, and thats all there is to it!

* This makes enough to fill about two 125 mL mason jars, one of which goes in the fridge the other I store in the freezer until I am ready to use. It lasts about 1 week in the fridge.
