Chickpea Pizza Crust
Every Friday night at my house is pizza night! This week for pizza night I wanted to create a crust that was both healthy and gluten free. Therefore I came up with this little creation, a chickpea based pizza crust and it turned out great!
It uses few ingredients, all of which are clean so you don't have to feel guilty about your weekly pizza night. Oh, and did I mention it is vegan as well? The perfect pizza crust for all types of diets, so give it a try and enjoy!
Ingredients:
3/4 can of chickpeas, strained & rinsed
3 tbsp. chia seed
1 1/2 cups chickpea flour
2 tsp. oregano
3 tsp. of garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1. Preheat oven to 400 F. Soak chia seed in in 6 tbsp. of water for 5 mins.
2. In a food processor blend chia seed, chickpeas, chickpea flour, garlic powder, oregano, salt and with just under a 1/2 cup water until smooth.
3. Spread dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for approx. 15 minutes.
4. Add toppings. I added tomato sauce, tomato, red peppers, spinach, chicken breast, onion and a little bit of cheese. Bake for an additional 17-20 minutes and enjoy!

ReplyDeleteThanks! I'v tried cauliflower crust and the chickpea crust is much better! I like the taste more and it doesn't fall apart like the cauliflower crust.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great alternative to most GF pizza crusts I've seen! So healthy too. I'm so excited to try this- I've missed pizza so much now that I don't eat dairy/gluten!
ReplyDeletelove it!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like the recipe!
